Does Hyperhidrosis Treatment Hurt?

Pain levels differ according to the procedure used and the treatment area. Botox injections may cause mild to moderate pain, particularly in more sensitive regions like the palms and soles. To improve comfort, we often use numbing creams, ice, or vibration techniques. Energy-based treatments can produce a heat sensation or temporary tenderness during and after the procedure.

Downtime and Recovery Expectations

Most of our treatments require minimal downtime. Most individuals can resume their normal routine on the same day. However, temporary swelling, redness, or discomfort may occur and can last from a few hours to several days. Treatments such as microwave therapy may cause longer-lasting swelling or numbness in the underarm area. Strenuous physical activity and heat exposure should be avoided for a short period after the procedure.

Hyperhidrosis Treatment for Hands And Feet

Hyperhidrosis is common in the hands and feet because they contain the highest number of sweat glands. We offer Botox and Radiofrequency Microneedling treatments for this. Botox blocks the nerve signals that send messages to the sweat glands. Whereas we use RF (heat) to disable those overreactive glands.

Botox is a temporary fix that lasts for 4-12 months and RF stays for around 2 to 5 years, depending upon certain conditions. Our aesthetician guides you about both options so you can make your decision.

When Will You See Results?

Results are not immediate for every treatment. Botox typically begins to reduce sweating within 7 to 10 days. Energy-based treatments may show gradual improvement over several weeks. Results vary based on how severe the condition is and which area is being treated.

Hyperhidrosis Treatment for Face & Scalp

The sweat glands of the face and scalp produce excessive sweat, especially during secondary hyperhidrosis. We use Botox injections and laser energy to destroy these glands. The high heat energy of the laser destroys their ability to produce sweat on the face. Whereas Botox works best to treat hyperhidrosis on the scalp without damaging hair follicles.

PRP Treatment can help rejuvenate and improve skin health in areas affected by chronic sweating or irritation.

How To Stop Exessive Sweat In Armpits?

Hyperhidrosis in the armpits is frustrating for people, who are already exposed to high heat and UV. Royale Med Spa provides microwave therapy, Botox, and Laser to treat excessive sweating in the underarms.

Microwave therapy (miraDry) is the only FDA-approved treatment to disable the sweat glands in the underarms. This is a more long-term treatment as compared to the temporary Botox and semi-permanent laser.

Are the Results Permanent?

Non-surgical treatments do not completely eliminate sweating. Microwave therapy (miraDry) provides long-term reduction but does not remove all of the sweat glands. Other options such as Botox require maintenance sessions to sustain results. The outcome varies between individuals based on their physiology and severity of sweating.

Remember: The goal of treatment is to reduce excessive sweating, not to eliminate it entirely. Sweat production is a normal body process that helps regulate body temperature. A complete eradication of sweating is neither expected nor medically appropriate.

Who Is Not a Suitable Candidate for Hyperhidrosis Treatment?

Not every treatment option is suitable for every patient. Procedures are generally avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding because of limited safety information available. Patients with pacemakers, metal implants, or specific neurological disorders may also not qualify for energy-based procedures. So, we do completely evaluate medical history of our patients beforehand to ensure absolute safety.

Possible Side Effects Patients Should Know

All treatments have some level of risk. Common injection-related effects include temporary bruising, swelling, and redness. Botox may also cause short-term muscle weakness in the treated area. Energy-based treatments can lead to skin sensitivity, burns or discoloration when the procedure is not performed properly. Microwave therapy may result in temporary numbness, tingling, or firmness under the skin. Topical and oral medications can cause dryness, irritation, blurred vision, or other systemic effects.

But these side effects are usually temporary. With a board-certified aesthetician performing these procedures at Royale Med Spa, personal errors are reduced to a minimum.
